You WILL need to bring some of your own gear.
Horseback riding: We strongly suggest long pants, boots with a heel (preferably western riding boots), a light rain jacket, an extra, warm shirt or light coat, and a hat to keep the sun off.
Back Country trip: Bring a warm sleeping bag, your favorite pup tent if you have one. Bring your personal items like a toothbrush, grooming items, camp soap, and a towel. Be sure you bring any medicine you take a let your guides and hosts know about your medication and any special requirements you have before you head into the backcountry. You should have a change of clothes. Weather in the mountains can change VERY quickly. Temperatures can vary 40 degrees F. from day to night so be sure to have a wool sweater or shirt and wool socks in your repertoire. There are some good modern fabrics that work well but nothing as good as wool. Bring a rain jacket. Once you are in camp you may want to put on some warm comfy shoes…so bring an extra pair!
